From my understanding, the hack was (always) ViP, just that the author made a mistake and ticked the option to make it for free for a period of time.

Hello, It is technically not faulty. We cannot really see whether the app is actually downloaded or failed or whatever happened to it. Apple doesn't allow us to do that, especially in our kind of app. So we can only see when you click the Install button. Clicking that button initiates the download, which in turn starts using bandwidth.
