Yeah, this should work since the game think that you're not jailbroken so you cannot have any iAP Crackers installed.

What do you mean

Crack the App, open the binary in IDA and search in strings or functions window for ptrace or syscall or whatever the protection is and look around for MOVS R1, #0x1F or something like that and NOP it (C046). Now try attaching to gdb again.
