This is not a very efficient way to do it nor am I sure if it ends up working for everyone else who installs the IPA. You should consider just using Clutch or Rasticrac.

They might replace it depending on the defect and warranty. You'll have to go there and ask them. And if they replace it, the new iPhone they'll give will likely be on the latest iOS but you can ask them to find one on an old iOS version.
