Any binary patches? Have you modified the game files previously?

Did you apply any previous binary? If yes, reinstall the game and the hack.

It's a .deb but it needs the patched binary to work for everyone so it's in the right place.

Be more specific, which game? Not every game can be reset by deleting the contents inside the Documents folder or Preferences.
