The mods check your account status on launch so if your ViP has expired, the access will too.

Older IPAs are usually rendered unusable so the better option is to try and fix the crashes. Inform the developers on the topic when this happens so they can review and resolve.

You still need to do this in this case "please log out of Game Center from iOS settings to fix the connection issue."
