The router needs to be connected to a device via Ethernet to be able to login to it from what I know. And even if you were able to login, you wouldn't know the configuration your ISP has.

You stated you were Jailbroken. Did you install any tweaks regarding the messages app? Can you also try Messages while in Safe Mode?
