I think your Makefile is pointing to a theos which doesn't exist. You're declaring the $THEOS variable in /var/theosnew and your Makefile is looking for it in /var/root/theos. Check your project Makefile.

I suggest clearing your .profile first and login as root. Run this: touch ~/.profile echo 'export THEOS=/var/theosnew' >>~/.profile echo 'alias theos="$THEOS/bin/nic.pl"' >>~/.profile source ~/.profile From
