The Karate Kid was an inspirational film directed by John G. Avildsen. The Karate kid is a motivational movie and the actor Daniel Luroso shows a respectable role model for boys old and young. It relates to the modern world of learning how to use self- defence rather than trying to make issues worse with other physical or online activity. Today I will be explaining how Daniel Luroso is a good role model for boys.
The Karate kid aka Daniel and his mother leave home for a new life in California. When Daniel arrives he isn’t very satisfied with his new home, straight away he gets invited to a beach party with a couple mates. Daniel meets a girl called Ali it was love at first sight, but what Daniel didn’t know is about Ali’s old boyfriend Johnny. Close to the end of the party Johnny is riding his motorcycle when he spots Daniel and Ali together, Johnny had much anger and went over to them. Johnny started to harass Ali and tries to take her possessions. Daniel showed a courageous effort in trying to stop Johnny because he knew it was the right thing to do suddenly they get into a fight although Daniel tried to help Ali he got absolutely smashed. When Daniel began to lose confidence in himself Mr. Miyagi understood that Daniel was giving in to his fear of his opponent and not to his actual opponent, usually we stop ourselves from even trying because we give in to fear and self-doubt. This shows that there is no shame to losing to an opponent or failing in anything to do with our life.
‘Always look eye’ a quote from Mr. Miyagi when teaching Daniel how to bow correctly. This message means to keep your head up and see what’s in front of you and to not be afraid to look at it. If you are on guard and keeping a close eye in front it can’t hurt or surprise Mr. Miyagi would have wanted to Daniel to be ever vigilant on this. This can be a role model for us ‘Always look eye’ in your own life it is respectful, lift your eyes see what’s there when you are looking you can listen but when you are not looking you hear.
Have you ever had the feeling when you just wanted something to happing really quickly, Daniel like many boys wanted things to happen quickly he wanted to learn straight away but things took time. While learning from Mr. Miyagi, Daniel got ahead of himself many times which causes him to lose focus and fall out of sync Mr. Miyagi tells him that he must first learn to stand and to stand strong before he can fly free, how many times have boys put their-self out of sync by being impatient, lacking trust in the process or in their-selves.
To conclude my speech On The Karate Kid film, I have concluded that it is a superb role model for boys because they will observer what Mr Miyagi teaches Daniel. Thank you for listening.
