This has no correlation with your Jailbreak. Overtime, when you use something for a long time, grease, dirt, and other components enter the cracks of the phone and stall them from working. A common fix is using rubbing alcohol to get the dirt out, but I don't know how. This has happened to me but in my Home button and I am almost positive its from the dirt, etc. Simple answer: Clean the dirt inside the volume rocker using rubbing alcohol.
