It's because the files placement on iOS 9.3.3 are different than iOS 7, 8 etc. so only new hacks which have the compatibility written on it work. Read your help and support topic, I answered your question.

You can run a mac on linux on windows on mac on windows on linux; But it'll be super laggy maybe.
