Last February 11,2016, a thread was posted on 4chan: http://boards.4chan.org/g/thread/52918238/ibrick. What's the bug? What does it do to my device? A bug relating to your device's date setting was found. It seems that when you change the date to "January 1,1970", it would brick your device. What do I do? I accidentally set the date to January 1,1970 out of curiosity. How can I repair my device? Sadly with this bug, you can't use DFU Restore or Recovery method to fix your device. The only thing you can do is ready your wallet and ride your ass to an apple store near you for a physical repair of your device. Should I be worried about this bug? Yes. Connecting to a public wifi would put you at risk to an attacker that might send malicious NTP requests to adjust any device within the wifi's network. How can I protect myself? Thanks to reddit user named Ziphon, you can install a tweak that prevents any assholes from manually changing your device's date. Where do I get it? Add this repo: http://repo.ziph0n.com/ and search for "BrickingDate". Can I really be safe with the tweak? What does it do? Be Safe Kids! Push that like and thanks button if you may.
