Which error message are you getting? Is it the same as the OP? I'll be able to reply after a few hours now...

You didn't install it. You just downloaded the file. Navigate to /var/mobile/Documents via iFile and tap on the .deb file then press on 'Installer' from the popup. Then reboot.

Install it manually via iFile or place it in /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall and reboot.

Your iPad has 1GB of ram so that should rarely happen. Give the suggestions on that thread a try because they're not the same as backgrounder.
