Yeah I kept going through walls with my fists and punching then disappearing. The guy was terrified.

Sometimes you can tell by the shadow it makes on the ground. Or yes, you can turn Xray feature off so you can see your surroundings. Most useful in the end game I assume. Although both features are useful to see where your enemies are and to hide yourself or to give yourself and advantage over them.
