If you play console in general and you mod, or you are a trashtalker, use a vpn. I have been in games where I had mods and some guy DoSed me. This happened a while ago. Its when someone sends multiple packets to your internet or a website and it crashes your internet or the site. And people on xbox act tough with like $1 things. So yeah if you dont want being with no internet do it. Ive read many stories of people not on for weeks, bc people keep attacking. Even PSN servers get attacked a shit ton. Lol just saying thats why I started using vpns before I got banned and people were like, "Im going to fry your router for a week!" And they said some random ip and location lol. And DoS = Denial of service involving 1 computer. DDoS = Distributed Denial Of Service involving multiple people or computers. And DoX when someone gets your ip and uses a geolocation finder..... I know this because I have seen many documentarys and met a lot of interesting ppl but not bad guys lol. I don't even have a computer rn so it was a while back.... Just be careful. Bc it can make your internet even slower if yours is shit lol. Oh and btw yes it is kinda illegal but you cant do shit unless they techinically cause damages worth quite a bit of money
