Unless you have lived other places in the world you will never truly understand. A lot of games came from the uk but can’t play them on the world level. Soccer it is

that doesnt make any sense, thats the same as calling ''tennis'': racketball or something. thats just changing the name. and a name is not something to be changed when you change from language. its the same as going to anther country and randomly changing your name to that countrys most used name. except for asian thats a weird thing right?

I call it soccer because of where I live and how our culture is. The argument that it should be called football since you use your feet to kick the ball is meaningless to me because poker has nothing to do with poking, bowling has nothing to do with bowls, cricket has nothing to do with crickets... etc

We know that Football has been around since 1500's, going back to when children would kick pigs bladder's around. Some say it goes back 2000 years ago.

'American Football', however, was made somewhat around the 1880's. '1880's that a great rugby player from Yale, Walter Camp, pioneered rules changes that slowly transformed rugby into the new game of American Football.'

'American Football' was a derivative of rugby. 

I think this establishes that football is football, and american football is american football, or rather, 'american rugby'. - Or at least in my opinion. Slang is slang, if you're in the US then it's most likely soccer.
