It’s not forgotten, he just has a lot going on IRL and doesn’t have the time. 
 

His reply I’m quoting can be found on page 516.  

“Not sure if/when I'll update this hack. Currently going through a lot of IRL stuff which needs almost constant attention. 

No promises but I'll see what I can do. This goes for any other hacks I have as well.”

Oh I know, I have been monitoring this thread for a very long time.

My old point about getting another dev to work on it still stands. If he doesn’t have time to update the hack, then he should stop working on it.
 

Saying “when/if” implies there is a chance he never will again - if that’s the intention, then hand it over, don’t lead people on with false hope.

“Hand it over” this is his work, this is his hack, he doesn’t have to nor should he “hand it over” to anyone. 
Someone else will have to do a new one if this one won’t be developed anymore, he’s not leading anyone anywhere nor is he giving anyone any hope, he said it plain and simple, he doesn’t owe anyone anything.
