difference of paid apps from free apps?

Hi! notice in cydia that there are apps from bigboss that need to be purchase but free from other sources and the author or creator of the app is the same. is there any difference in the app? of course i tried the free apps first to test it and if i really like it, i will pay for it to support the creator/author.

 

My theory is that the creator get paid by bigboss or other sources that's why they need to be purchased but other sources crack the app so that others can download it for free and the creator gets nothing.

 

Please correct me if i'm wrong. I'm still learning and i also want to support creators of the apps/tweaks/hacks that i really like. Thanks

Authors don't win anything from cracked apps unless they've implemented domething in their app which can generate revenue other than selling it.

 

Free paid apps are mostly for trial use. So you can try before you buy.

 

Be careful from pirate repos now also. There's this new news spreading out that a simple postinst file can brick your iPhone for good.

How will i know which repo to trust?

 

Is it safe to assume that if the sources are charging for its apps are legit/safe like bigboss?
