I am not able to connect to google play games to get my progress. Neither with the signed nor the unsigned version. (the unsigned won't even start) I am using blueStacks. Do I need some special configuration, or is it just not possible with the modded version?

For the unsigned to work you need to patch with lucky patcher first don't know if bluestacks is able too do that 

 

Lucky Patcher > Toolbox > android patch > check the both first options and apply.. After that bluestacks should reboot and you can login in Google play with the unsigned one
