Hey!

I found this quite cool tool on CoolStar's Twitter and I gave it a try myself and it was accurate for my iPhone X. This website will allow you to predict what iOS version a device you want to buy will be on. Based on the iDevice's serial number, so you need to know the serial number of the device.

The serial number will will provide device manufacturing location, year of manufacturing, week when it was built, etc. And based on that information it will find you the probable iOS version the device you're trying to buy will be on.

This likely won't work on refurbished, unboxed or 2nd hand devices because they have likely been updated once unboxed.
