Help/Support iCloud Locked iPhone 7

I bought an iPhone 7 from someone and when I tried to reset it, iCloud lock turned on. I tried contacting the previous owner but he did not trust me enough with the credential of his account. I know there are services out there, but does anyone know one that is not a scam or a method to bypass the activation?

You bought an iCloud locked device from someone? 

Atleast tell him to remove the iCloud lock before sending you

update to iOS 11 Beta.

hopefully they have their iCloud email signed in the mail app. Go thru a password reset if it is.

The device wasn't locked when I bought it, it locked after I tried to reset it. When I contacted the seller, the person did not want to share their account information

The device was logged into his iCloud account. Which is why you see that

I tried that method, I can't update an icloud locked device, even through iTunes, I need it to be activated.

Yeah, realized that a bit too late

Tell him to give you his account details then change password

Or ask for a refund

you can update any device in DFU Mode
