Help/Support nvram on iOS 8 safe?

I want to change my iPod's wifi address to my phone's wifi address because I have it registered in Aqua Wu's server for iGameGuardian by running "nvram wifiaddr=my phone's wifi address here". I don't want to lose the jailbreak on my iPod because I was able to get Theos installed on it so there might be some hope for hacks, and it's the last device that I have

To undo this there is also a specific command which resets your UDID (meaning=MAC and WiFi address) to default state when it was bought.

Enter Mobile Terminal and first enter superuser by typing

su
alpine (default password if it's not changed)
nvram -d wifiaddr

Well done so far. To apply all changes restore the iPhone with iTunes and you should be good ! (WHen you are jailbroken try semi-restore or similar.

I just want to know if it is safe, I know about nvram -d wifiaddr. I've done it before to this iPod, and it worked, but the one other time I did it it put the device into a boot loop.

The UDID can be changed by running the command below, followed by a DFU restore. If the DFU restore is not performed, many applications will break, including iTunes. It is very important to first write down the original MAC address and keep that information in a safe place so that you can revert this change if necessary.

It is also very important to not change this to an invalid MAC address. If you change your device's MAC address to something invalid, your internet won't work again until you fix the MAC address (using MobileTerminal or similar).

This persists even if you restore - so you can make this really really hard to fix (you can call it a form of bricking) if you restore and there's no jailbreak available, if the available jailbreaks don't include apple file conduit 2 and other workarounds aren't working.

Note that changing your UDID can have weird side effects in general, including that you'll have to log in again to everything, including Apple apps.
