Hi everyone!

I will be talking to you today about Adjustment Layers

 

Adjustment layers are basically layers that adjust certain things in your photo. Like the colors, for example. Or the brightness. Or even the feel of it. 

 

To show you what I mean, here is a photo without an adjustment layer:

Pretty decent. But here is the photo again, with Adjustment Layers:

See how this photo is much brighter compared to the last one? It creates more depth as a result. And therefore, adjustment layers are incredible.

 

Adjustment layers that are most commonly used are 'Photo Filters', 'Gradient Maps' and 'Brightness/Contrast'. You can find these at Layers > Adjustment Layers > the layers are here.

 

Adjustment layers are also commonly used in combination and unison with blending options. Most typically the Soft Light (at opacity 20-40 %) and the Overlay (50-100 %)

 

 

Adjustment layers are incredible. No doubt. Yup.
