Clicking on it while logged into my US account brings up an option to change it to New Zealand store, is there an option somewhere to change stores to view what games are out?

Not really, you can search recently soft launch apps, and there should be some websites with an app link to different app stores, besides that best way is to create an Apple ID and pick your country, best country's with the best app and games are: Canada, New Zealand, China, Australia, and uk, there are many more but those are the most popular
