I’m at work currently, but it’s right after the logos at the beginning, with the little plant in the bottom right corner. The plant is moving, but the game never loads in.

Sounds like a Game Center/side loading issue. Here’s a list of install methods that will get around that:

When I tested with sideloadly I got a message “start without signing into Game Center” not sure if that’s just me though.

Same. I’ve tried downloading with the app, just tried using sideloadly, and a bunch of other random things like signing out of Game Center, turning on airplane mode etc. but I’m still hanging at the black screen after the logos.

If sideloadly doesn’t work for you then you’ll need to use another method of install.
