I may have messed up and currently don't have my progress saved

Since finding out about ldoe 1.21, I have been playing and been enjoying it alot. Now the game asks me to update and as of right now there is no modded update for the game.

 

My question is; If an update were to be released, can i sideload the new update and still have my progress or will it be overwritten by the new update?

 

Also I have managed to sideload LDOE 1.22 (duplicated) with iGG but there are not much guides on how to mod/modify the game, any tips in the right direction will be appreciated.

As far as I have tested, all you need to save is the user ID in a save game or Game Center, the progress is saved on servers of Kefir.

For the most parts modifying memory with iGG desynchronises the save game, but it works with mercenary stripes. Can confirm this guide still works.
