Edit: tried deleting all data, replacing modified save, then signing in with existing account and I get stuck loading. Using a fresh account works though.

Yes, it does. As long as I don't login with one of my Apple IDs and restore my old save (which sucks, because I have to start from scratch).
 

If you're still having problems, notice that the instructions under the hidden content say to:

Quote

Paste inside /private/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/ [ Hero Village ] /Documents/remote/assets/main/

While the instructions at the end say to paste in: 

Quote

/User Applications/AppName using iFunBox or /var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/AppName using Filza.

I'm not sure what the difference is, but I pasted mine in /private/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/ [ Hero Village ] /Documents/remote/assets/main/ and it works with a new game. Once I sync my old account, however, I get stuck loading at 12%. I'm guessing this is an issue with the old data from my save conflicting with this saved file.

@Zahir looks like the newest update might have broken this. /private/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/ [ Hero Village ] /Documents/remote/ is now empty and there’s no files to replace anymore. I wonder if they changed the location of the files?

 

edit: adding the missing folders and placing index.jsc causes game to get stuck loading @ 12%.
