GFX Signatures for N3WBS

So i was searching for stuff and came across a somewhat decent video for PS newbs... Enjoy

Everytime i put the c4 image in, it has a black background around it, is there a way for me to fix this ? 

Or do i have to take it out manually. Also on the icon of the c4 images i downloaded it says tiff idk if that might be the problem.

Usually when it's like that click on channels and it should be a channel called alpha hold Ctrl and click on that it it should select the cd4 and just cut the selection out and paste it
