If we're being forced to think in a certain way, then what we're thinking right now is also forced. And if it's a simulation, it can't be free will, since it would be based on a certain unchangeable logic. So we can't really ever really find a difference between "real" and simulation so it wouldn't make a difference. If it's a simulation, reality to us is basically colors to a person who was born blind

We don't really have enough knowledge regarding this, but it's possible for an advanced simulation to give free will. And that's kind of what happened with humanity so far. We came from nothing and millions of years of evolution led us to where we are now.

What if I told you, free will is non existent? That all our actions are predetermined due to the fact that they are a sum of our previous experiences? 

(It's called hard determinism in philosophy)
