Are you talking about the black bars on the top and bottom? They're there so that the art looks more theatrical, it's not part of the art itself

I sort of fixed the problem. Download the new deb. But every time you buy something your money becomes negative. The fix is whenever you buy something, exit the Shop menu (all of it), and your money will go back to normal. Just repeat the process for anything you buy.

I'm sure you're going to love the tablet

I've never used a Wacom Tablet before (I really, really want one), but coming from my experience as a designer, shouldn't a medium-sized tablet suffice? (as a small one wouldn't be large enough to fully encompass a design - just from observation alone - and a large one would take up too much space)
