A JTAG/RGH exploited console is modified to enable the running unsigned code. Both of these modification methods achieve the same thing, just in different ways, and they both have different requirements. The JTAG modification is a software hack based upon an exploitable SMC which is why it can only be done to Kernals 7371 or lower and was patched in the 8XXXX+ kernals. The RGH modification is a time based attack on the CPU that glitches the chip, and allows a moment for the exploit to take place and unsigned code to be run. You should start by knowing the following: what Dashboard you are on, what type of 360 you have (Phat or Slim), and what motherboard you have (See Spoiler Below) Phat: -Xenon (2005) -Zephyr (2007) -Falcon (2007) -Opus (2008 ) -Jasper (2008 ) Slim: -Trinity (2010) -Corona (2011) To JTAG your console, you’ll need to meet the following requirements before you tear apart your 360 and cry because you can’t JTAG it: Dashboard lower than 7379 (And even then it’s iffy) The correct CB version (Circuit Board version, can only be found by dumping the NAND) Slim 360’s CANNOT by JTAG’d, but can be RGH’d(Given it meets the requirements) To RGH (Reset Glitch Hack) your 360, you’ll need to meet the following requirements: Dash 14719 or lower The correct CB (CB’s changed during the 15XXX update, so consoles without their CPU keys CANNOT be RGH’d on that dash!)[/details] Overall, RGH is a more convenient method, but the JTAG boot times are more stable where as RGH can take 5 minutes one boot then 2 secods the next. JTAGable Xbox’s are also much more difficult to find these days, were as RGH is considerably easier to find.

Multiman Method: (someone may have multiman named mmCM if they have cobra mode enabled)If you use Multiman you will need a USB flash drive.Plug the USB stick into your computer.Move the SPRX and EBOOT.bin to your USB.Eject the USB stick out of the computer. Now, plug the USB into the PS3.Head over to Multiman and scroll all the way to the left. Now, go to File Manager / mmOS.Now double-click on PS3 Root. A folder will pop up.Double click on dev_usbOpen a new PS3 Root folderOn the new folder, you're gonna want to open dev_hdd0, scroll down and head to tmp.Once you're inside dev_hdd0/tmp, go to the folder where you opened dev_usb. Press circle on the sprx file (for example Tutorial.sprx)Click copy.Go back to dev_hdd0/tmp and press cirlcle on an empty place (for example where it says Free Space) and then click Paste. Now you wanna go back to dev_usb and copy the EBOOT.bin.Go to dev_hdd0 and click on game. Now you should have /dev_hdd0/game in your upper left corner on the folder. Click on BLES01807, then usrdir and replace the EBOOT.bin with the one you copied by pasting it.PS: You need to change the sprx's name to what the eboot loads. I use rfood modz antiban eboot and it only works with the name GTA.sprxNow you have installed a sprx menu and eboot with Multiman! Congratz!EDIT: Once you have installed the mods, you can eject the usb from the ps3 if you want!Filza Method:This is the easiest method. Open FileZilla.Up to the left, you will see a box called Host.In that box, you type in your ps3's IP adress.Once you've done that, click on Quick connect a little further to the right. Now you will see in a big box down to the right, that you have a bunch of folders called dev etc.Click on dev_hdd0, go to tmp.Once you're in there, drag the sprx file from wherever you have it and into the box. Now, go back to dev_hdd0 and click on game.Once you're in there, go to BLES01807 and then USRDIR.Paste your EBOOT.bin here.

1. Install Rebug 4.75.3 – Cobra 7.1 – Toolbox 2.02.06 – Sep 6th. 2015 if you have not already. I would suggest you to convert to DEX.2. From the Rebug toolbox, enable webMAN. 3. The webMAN will show up on the XMB under Game section. Click on it, go to the setup, scroll down. You will see the option to change IDPS & PSID. CID=PSID+IDPS Source: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/ps3/Console_ID4. Enter the provided IDPS+PSID ( IDPS is unique ID for online activities and PSID is unique ID for offline stuff). 5. Install Psnpatch 2015.9/a.6. Now you have everything you need. Dont go online before you follow this! - Launch Rebug toolbox and spoof your Active PS3ID to CEX or else you will receive an error while connecting to PSN. Quit to XMB after you spoof. Mount your game backup which you want to play. After that launch PSNPatch to disable CFW Syscall and history. 7. You can now login to PSN

STEP 1: GETTING STARTED You will need the following: USB thumbdrive (at least 512 Meg is a good size, as this is a big install) the softmod install files (updated file location as Megaupload is now dead: http://www.1337upload.net/files/SID.zip) Xplorer 360 (Program that allows you to inject files onto the Thumbdrive) Decent computer running Windows XP or Windows 7 but will be testing under Wine in Xubuntu (I GUESS you could use Vista :S ) Device to connect Thumbdrive to XBox (i used my Controller Game that can use an Exploit (I used the First Splinter Cell as any version will work. If you can't get that, the Original Mech Assault, or an Older version of 007:Agent Under Fire, as most of the newer ones will not work.) Original XBox Optional: 12 pack of your favorite frosty 'BEvERage' STEP 2: FILE (AND HOW TO PREPARE THEM!) Boot up your Xbox without a game in the drive then go to memory. Make sure your thumbdrive is plugged into the controller or otherwise connected to the XBox. Your XBox will say that your thumbdrive is not working correctly and has been erased (i hope you didn't have anything valuable on it!). After this, simply plug that sucker into your computer. when the PC identifies the drive, it will ask if you would like to format it. Don't! Install Xplorer 360 to the desktop and as well, extract the NTSC folder within the compressed folder to the desktop as well. then start X 360 and go to >Drive >Open >Hard Drive or Memory Card. It will identify the thumbdrive as Partition 0 (the thumbdrive has been formated by the XBox as FatX so your PC will not recognize it on its own). Now Drag 'N' Drop the four folders inside NTSC to the right hand of the X 360. This will take about 15 minutes or so as the files aren't simply copied, but 'injected' onto the thumbdrive. So crack a cold one and throw on something to pass the time (it was Hulu for me and yes i am in Canada, but i know a way around that ) Add TipAsk Question STEP 3: COPYING FILES FROM STICK TO XBOX Once the Files have completed injecting onto the stick, you can now plug it into the XBox. You will want to access the Memory section of the Dashboard, then select the area where the thumbdrive is recognized (in the case of my install, it was Controller One). You will want to open that part, then press Right (->) on the D-Pad on the controller then copy the appropriate save file to the hard drive (in this case, The Splinter Cell Linux save). Now this will take a while again to copy, so its good to have something to do. This should take about ten minutes (blame the USB 1.1 connectivity of the XBox). when this is done you can check the hard drives contents in the Memory Section to confirm. When this is done, exit all that then remove the thumbdrive. Now load your Game and on to the next step! STEP 4: INSTALLATION (THE NOT-NEARLY-AS-SLOW PART!) Ok, no worries the long parts are past us, as the files are now on your hard drive! Boot the Game now (hit start to skip past the opening). Go to the Start Game Screen, and select the "Linux" profile. Hit A three times then watch the system load onto the BSOD installer (B@$tard Sons Of Dialup). You will now only have a few simple steps to follow. First, in case something like a power outage or other Act of Randomness inturrupts the install, select "Back up C Drive" first off! Confirm by selecting Yes after you start the backup process, and this will only take maybe a minute (it's all being done on the hard drive now so it's a LOT faster!). When that is completed, select "Install Softmod". This will load into a different screen where you will see a scroll down menu. Select "Backup EEEPROM". Then back it up to the E Drive. This will take a second. Then select "Install Softmod". this may take 3 to 5 minutes. once this is done, select "Back To Main Menu". Then select "Restart XBox". STEP 5: THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOURS! Just restart the XBox now and enjoy the payoff! XBox Media Centre will play any file format that you throw at it, including MP4, MKV, OGM, DIVX, Xvid, and supports iTunes Network Play, album art, and some kick-ass emulators (those you will have to install yourself besides FCEEmu (NES Emulator included with the installation, but you have to supply the roms, naturally). Now i do not recommend playing movies off of the USB as it is only 1.1 (slow data transfer rate). Network or DVD Drive is recommended (that may be in another tutorial). As well, this WILL allow you to play Backups (burned games) but if you make your own backups, burn them at a low speed, and use DVD-R (some drives have been shown the ability to recognize the +R, +RW, as well as CD-R). Enjoy!!

Looking for a way to backup your classic PS3 games to hard drive or discs without fear of them getting damaged? Here’s the perfect solution for Sony PlayStation users. As a video game player, you must spend countless hours on each game, working hard to unlock new characters, new game play arenas, or upgrading their characters. In order to keep your precious games safe from being damaged or scratched, you desire to learn the the solution to backup your PS3 games and create perfect 1:1 copies of your game discs. MultiMan Backup Manager for PlayStation 3is one of the most actively developed homebrew packages at the moment on the PlayStation scene and from the amount of features it has, there has obviously been a lot of work that has gone into creating this handy application. The main features of running actual backups are as follows: Backup and Copy PlayStation Games, Delete game backups from your hard drive (external or internal). Rename PlayStation Games Download available updates for backed up games Test the files associated with backed up games and apply/re-apply permissions to games which the user has backed up making sure they run smoothly (this has been a feature we’ve used often between testing various backup managers). Those are the main functions of backing up stuff, but some other very useful features for actually successfully loading game backups are the booting options: Blu-Ray Mirror/BD Mirror, Direct Boot, External or Internal copy or Game Disc. For backing up PS3 games to hard drive of your computer, you should prepare the following stuff. Download Base Version v04.78.03. MultiMAN – Copy and backup PlayStation games to your computer hard drive. Your original PS3 gaming disc How to Copy PS3 Games to External Hard Drive with MultiMAN? Make sure you have the latest MultiMAN (v04.78.03) installed or else will receive a bunch of errors or a black screen when booting. Also, make sure there are no other USB drives plugged in. Only your external. Or the game will not boot. Have a working MultiMAN setup, congratulations! Now that everything works you can backup your first game. You can either use your PS3’s internal hard drive or an external USB hard drive formatted as FAT32. It will ask you if you want to backup your game to the internal hard drive first (if you want to backup your game on the internal hard drive press yes) if not select no and it will ask you to backup the game on the external hard drive, press yes. Start multiMAN (under game), insert the original PS3 game disc into the PS3. Select the game in multiMAN and press triangle and select Backup/Copy. Create a backup of the game to: – If game contains files bigger than the FAT32 limite (4GB) -> Internal hard drive – If game doesn’t contain files bigger than 4GB -> internal or external Transfer the backup copy to your PC (if game contains 4GB+ files you may have to use FTP) Note: At this point you should have the PS3 game backup on your PC with all files 1:1 (no split files!) You can go ahead and try to back up PS3 games with MultiMAN. This method is tested by many PS3 game player to proved it worked.. It actually make games backing up work down in an easy way.

You may be asking yourself, what does all of this mean? Are they codes in a certain way? What do they do? How are they helpful to me? I can answer all of this in simple ways, but I'd rather break it down. OFWOFW stands for official firmware. Official firmware is put out by Sony themselves, and that's what you update to when you are prompted to update in order to play SEN. OFW can be modded, which then turns to MFW, or CFW. CFWCFW stands for custom firmware. Most of the time you see a CFW, especially for newer firmwares above 3.55, they are a spoof. A spoof adds access to SEN when your console is on a lower firmware, such as 3.55, it "tricks" your system into thinking it is on a higher firmware to access SEN. If you hear people claiming there is a new CFW for SEN, they are lying. Jailbreaking cannot be applied above 3.55. MFWMFW stands for modded firmware. Modded firmware is in a sense the same as CFW, yet it has less features. MFW can also potentially harm Playstation's with a functioning disk drive, so it's just best advised to stay away from them.DEXHere's where it gets good. DEX stands for developer/debug firmware. This is what developers use to develop new apps, new games, and even new features. Alas, a setback is that DEX firmware does not allow SEN access. It disables it. CEXCEX simply means retail. When you hear CEX to DEX, that means retail to developer. It also is the same as CFW, just a different name. SEXSEX is what a shop would have on display. Nothing is really useful with it, just to try games on, and to see features. This is what all of those Demo firmwares are all about, such as the 4.21 exploit made by GlitchyJoey. You can't install anything with it, it's basically just for looks. RebugRebug is a spoof of some sorts, and adds a bunch of new features. There's: SEN store previews Package manager Trophy unlocker Rebug toolbox Rebug mode DebugThis doesn't give any features that a jailbreak does. You don't have homebrew, nor run backups. There's no point to it at all. Hopefully this solved all your questions about this, if you have any questions feel free to PM me or leave a comment here.

Let's get this straight. Can i get banned on PSN?: YES. Can i get console banned?: YES. Can i UNBAN my PS3?: YES. But using an old *technique* that if you are not too familiar with it you have to read more about it. Can Sony detect if im on CFW when im online?:It's some cat and mouse play, somehow they hold some information and they done recently some official statements warning all users to REMOVE all pirated data from their PS3 to avoid getting banned or terminated. For me, they can detect certain users. Like Multiman ones, they are not masked and are DAMN easy to spot that (you have to a morron to not notice that). So if they can or can't detect if your CFW and you OWN only 1 PS3 better not take any unnecesary risks. If you want to push your luck keep connecting with CFW on PSN.Friendly advise.=======================What happen if you get banned?:Well your PSN account is linked with your offline account so you are pretty FUBAR (****ed beyond repair) Even if you manage to *Unban* yourself this is only the tip of the iceberg. There are many ways to *Unban* yourself but you have to downgrade again among many other process that the average user will probably not understand. So NOT is lost if you get hammered.=======================How to AVOID getting BANNED from PSN:If you care about your PSN account and you even purchased being on CFW some games on PSN.You gotta do the following for the time being until we have more info about this.1) Do NOT log in with your CFW into PSN. 2) Do NOT use pre-releases with your CFW and avoid play online. Now if you want to go online without being banned you will need to download these pkg’s and install them on your console. 1. PsnPatch https://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=244 2.PsnNinja https://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=189

APPS/UTILITIES REQUIRED + Simple 360 NAND Flasher - For dumping and updating your dashboard. + JRunner - For creating a new dashboard update. Extract all files to any location on your PC. OTHER REQUIREMENTS + FAT32 formatted USB drive STEP ONE: Dumping Your NAND * Grab the Simple 360 NAND Flasher from the link above. Now, unpack the Simple 360 NAND Flasher folder to the root of your external FAT32 USB drive. You should end up with something like this (E:\Simple 360 NAND Flasher\) * Head over to your XBOX 360 and boot your console into Freestyle 3. * Use the File Manager utility in FS3 to browse to the Simple 360 NAND Flasher directory,. Next, highlight default.xex then press A to start the program. sorry this is a screencap from an older version of Simple 360 NAND Flasher but it will look essentially the same as the latest version * Press X as it says and the utility will quickly dump or copy your NAND to your USB drive - the file will be called flashdump.bin. Mine only took 16 seconds. STEP TWO: Creating A New NAND Image * Back on your PC, insert your USB drive, fire up JRunner, and update to the latest version if there is an option in the menu bar that says "New Version Available" . The latest version of JRunner is so much simpler to use in that you really just need to point it to the NAND file you created and then create your updated NAND file. * Click on the Load Source button and navigate to the flashdump.bin file we created in the previous step and select it. * The magic of the latest JRunner is that it will find all the necessary info you need such as the CPU key, the motherboard version (mine is Trinity), and the type of system mod you have (RGH or JTAG). * Next, in the XeBuild section, click on the Dash Version drop down menu and select Add Dash * A small pop-up window will appear with a list of dashboard versions. Scroll down to the latest one (17150 at the time of writing) and then click Add Dashes. JRunner will now download the latest dashpack for you. Amazing! * Once the download is done, click on the Create XeBuild Image button near the top of the application window to create your updated NAND file. * Now find the updated NAND file called updflash.bin. This should appear in a sub-folder (mine was called 000273203108) within the JRunner application folder. Copy the updflash.bin file into the "Simple 360 NAND Flasher" folder of your USB drive. So in that folder you should have both the "flashdump.bin" and "updflash.bin" files. Cool? Let's move on. STEP THREE: Updating Your NAND * Go back to your XBOX console and like in step one, open up Simple 360 NAND Flasher by going into its folder, selecting default.xex, and pressing A. * You will be greeted by slightly different screen this time. again sorry for the outdated screengrab but trust me it will look essentially the same as with the latest version * Press A to overwrite your NAND with the one we created in step two. This should only take about 30 seconds. * Once done it will say that the system will reboot in 5 seconds. * Boot up your console again and your XBOX 360 Dashboard will now be updated to the latest supported version. Hooray!!! Please let me know if your system now also boots into the default XBOX 360 dashboard instead of the FreeStyle Dash and if you've found a way to get it back to booting into FS3 by default.
