quadratic? just go with b^2 - 4ac everywhere. It works everywhere. If a question specifically asks you to use middle term, use the quadratic rule method in rough and use the answers to solve it. If the question is complete the square, you just need to remove x and halve the 2ax term. Then put it in (x+a)^2 and minus the square of a [the term u got from 2ax). Ez
