I think the issue is that iOS 10.3 and up has a new filesystem and even if you restore a backup using iTunes the program is still saving the changes in a previous format, at least that
seems very likely, and therefore iTunes has problems restoring it afterwards. Whether the same applies for versions of iOS 10 that came before the new filesystem is hard to tell but
based on the comments in this thread it seems like you can restore using iTunes on iOS 10 as long as it's before iOS 10.3 but if you have iOS 10.3 and up then it doesn't work, probably
due to the new filesystem. I have e-mailed the developer about it and I suggest anyone else on iOS 10 with problems does the same and maybe they will update the program eventually.
