Hi.

Is there any tweak for iOS 7.1.2 to get the emoji keyboard as it is on iOS 8.1.3? I guess you know how it looks

First of all this is not my work found it on the internet and I also didn't test it, so read the NOTE. Credits to the developer carlyd95 add his repo.

So you can install it on 8.1.x !!!!

NOTE! This is still in beta, and is very buggy. The developer is constantly updating the tweak, so you must try this at your own risk!

Installing the iOS 8.3 Emoji Font File

Step 1: You will need the font file that is required for this to work. This guide will assume you have retrieved the file from your OS X 10.10.3 operating system by doing the following.

Open the Font Book application.
Search for the font “Apple Color Emoji Font”.
Right click the font and select “Show in Finder”.
Copy the file (Apple Color Emoji.ttf) from your OS X and paste it somewhere safe.
Rename this file to [email protected]

I cannot legally provide the actual file to you, but it can be also found on the following repo, but it is a BytaFont 2 font, and does not need to be installed via the method on this guide:Step 2: Once you have the font file renamed, go in iFile, or over SSH, navigate to /System/Library/Fonts/Cache.

Step 3: Backup your current [email protected] font by renaming it or adding “.bak” to the end of it.

Step 4: Paste the [email protected] font that you backed up from your Mac into this folder.

Step 5: Make sure you set the permissions of this file to 644. (User: Read, Write | Group: Read | World: Read).

Step 6: Reboot your device and make sure that the new emojis are now different.

Installing the Tweaks Needed to Use the iOS 8.3 Emoji Font File

While the developer has not added these tweaks to any official repo, it is available on the aforementioned repo, which can be found again below:If you choose to not use this repo, you can also download the .deb files directly from PoomSmart’s Github repository with the following links:

These tweaks are constantly updated, so make sure you are checking back daily and downloading the latest version to fix any bugs you might encounter.

How to Uninstall Emoji83

If you encounter any errors and you wish to remove these tweaks you can do so through Cydia and by replacing your fonts file with the original. By removing this tweak, you will notice that every time you try to open your Emoji keyboard, it will crash. To fix this, please do the following:

Step 1: Find and delete the file /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.EmojiPreferences.plist.

Step 2: Reboot your device.

Step 3: You should now be able to open your Emoji keyboard again!

Step 4: Make sure you replace the edited Emoji font file with the original that you renamed.

While it is not perfect, it definitely is major progress. Make sure you check the Known Issues section for each tweak on the Github repo to make sure that you don’t message the developer about problems he already knows exist!
