Just For Fun! (Story)

This is a Story someone told me to write about. Anyhow, Enjoy!

As I advanced towards the guard hut, I noticed a large rifle from the corner of my eye. I turned around and began to examine the massive gun, it has a barrel as big as my arm. With a dark green, camo skin. It resembles the look of a AR 15, though the barrel is way to large. Maybe a customized AR 15, I thought. I would have laughed if the situation wasn’t so bad. Two months ago I would have never thought I would ever come into contact with a handgun, let alone a customized AR 15. I tested the feel of the AR against my shoulder. Not bad. Whoever made this massive gun must've been a maniac. I mean seriously, a two foot long barrel? Besides the huge barrel this thing is impressive. The gun has a vortex optics scope attached to it and a solid beige stock. I slide the gun against my shoulder and begin silently running towards the guard hut, careful to watch out for twigs and other fallen debris that could cause noise.

        Before I could open the knob to the dark brown door which leads to the guard hut, a loud explosion booms overhead. I hear a man shouting in the distance, “Get down! Ja-” I hear loud boots tromping towards me from inside the hut. I quickly bolt to the side just as a man with a dark green military uniform booms out of the door. The man is yelling into his walkie-talkie about a breach on the southern part of the wall. I hear a static from the device and hear a deep, scruffy voice saying “we have been in the shadows for too long, for so long your kind has treated us disgracefully. Now we will repay the fa-” The voice is replaced by a high pitch siren. 

         After the guard is out of sight I rush into the guard hut. There are weapons on both sides of the walls: handguns, assault rifles, grenades, it seems like the list goes on and on. Down the middle there is a desk with a large TV set up on the left side with a fan and half empty Coca Cola can on the right side. I quickly bolt towards the TV which displays different surveillance camera views, trying to figure out what in the world is going on. On one of the cameras I see a giant green creature walking towards a guard hut almost identical to mine. As the creature gets closer I notice it's approaching the guard hut I'm in. I frantically search around the room for a hiding spot, out of the corner of my eye I notice a small navy blue door. Just as I close myself inside the small room assumedly a closet, I hear boot thumping on the ground. “Coca Cola, Jackpot baby!” The voice is high and unfamiliar “No! It can't be! It's a real Snickers bar” I hear loud slurping and chewing. I slowly prop the door open with my gun in hand, “what are you?” I spit, willing the creature to look at me. The creature jumps back smashing into a shelf full of books and spilling the remaining amount of Coca Cola on its shirt and the gray carpet. The creature begins screaming and bashes into the surveillance cameras, it falls with a loud thump. 

    “What are you?” I ask more sternly, holding the gun at his direction, hoping he don’t see my trembling hands. The  truth is, i’ve never kilt someone and do not intend on doing so. “My name is Calvin, I come from-” Calvin takes a shaky breath. “I’m from planet Derain, I didn’t want to come here but was forced to do so, please I-” “Silent! Let me think” I interrupt him. From planet Derain? What is planet Derain? I begin mentally ticking off the planets I know: Mars, Io, Neptune, not once have I heard of Derain. Perhaps he is lying to me. “How old are you, Calvin?” I ask, looking in his direction. “One hundred and thirty on my planet, which-” I gasp, interrupting him again. One hundred and thirty years? I don’t think that’s physically possible.  “Which is the equivalence to fourteen of your years.” Fourteen? He is only a kid! I pull my gun away from him in a sudden movement. He leaps back banging his head into a desk. “Your a bit jumpy aren’t you, Calvin.” “I’ve just never-” he pauses, catching himself. “I’ve never encountered one of your kind” he finishes, rubbing his head.
