Solved Theos installation issue on Ubuntu

im using DiDA's tut to install theos on ubuntu it tells me to type in this command

cd $THEOS/toolchain && sudo wget  https://developer.angelxwind.net/Linux/ios-toolchain_clang%2bllvm%2bld64_latest_linux_x86_64.zip -O LinuxToolchain.zip

it gives me this error cd: /toolchain: No such file or directory

That tutorial is for Windows. Linux doesn’t need that toolchain.

See the official theos install instructions from here: https://github.com/theos/theos/wiki/Installation

That one has the Linux instructions.

rn im confused because it says windows https://iosgods.com/topic/61352-new-2018-install-theos-on-windows-10-subsystem-for-linux/

Are you installing theos on the Ubuntu Windows or the actual Ubuntu OS?

Ah, OK. Now I understand.

It seems like you haven't declared your $THEOS variable, that's why it's not finding the toolchain folder.

Read the "Setting the $THEOS variable" part again then try running the toolchain command again.

Setting the $THEOS variable:

echo export THEOS="/opt/theos" >> ~/.bashrc
echo export PATH="\$THEOS/bin:\$PATH" >> ~/.bashrc
echo alias theos="\$THEOS/bin/nic.pl" >> ~/.bashrc
echo "umask 0022" >> ~/.bashrc
source ~/.bashrc
