General Hacking, what should I do?

I absolutely love hacking games and finding new secret messages or codes inside games that can lead to hacks/mods but school and homework is taking up a big % out of my day. I would want to hack as a hobby and for fun. so my main question is, what should I do? I'm more or less new to hacking. So do you think I should mod games? I don't know.. I'm so confused idek why and if this even makes sense but just reply if you've got an idea
