You need xCon. It detects Jailbreak.

When I said (non-jailbroken), I mean I dont have the mod on my phone at all. Its downloaded naturally with no mods hacks etc and my device is not jailbroken either, yet I get the same error message. Hence I dont need xCon and why i think it may be more than just an xCon issue

It might just be the jailbreak firmware because on mine it works perfectly with the latest version of xCon.
