Basically my Mac is connected to wifi and i share it with my iphone 6s+. However when i try to do the same with my iPhone 5s, it doesn't connect to the internet.

The setting i changed was the one that enables internet sharing. Any thoughts on what  i should do.

Your iPhone 5S is not compatible with the mac you have...  The 6s Plus came out somewhere near your Mac model so it'll work but not with the 5S

I've had this conversation before, the have it in the internet sharing preferences but it doesn't actually work. I wanted to do it from a Mac (MacBook Pro, Early 2015) to an iPhone 4 (Broken WiFi) (iOS 7.1.2) unfortunately when I enable it on my Mac it does absolutely nothing, I can only do it the other way around.

@Xenoxide So you are saying you can only do it with the iPhone 6S and above or something or not at all?

Yes, the MacBook 2015 model doesn't support internet sharing anything below iPhone 6S

So what if I use an older Mac like from 2013 or 2011 or 2009 (I think) which would work for an iPhone 5S?

Idk, I only know bout the MacBook 2015. It may be true that a 2013 Mac would work with the 5S. Most probably it will work
