oh so I've been doing it right the whole time, I thought that was an alternative way. but when I got it and opened the game it didn't ask if I wanted to restore my progress. how can I play with my existing account without the iosgods plus app?

You need 3rd paid services or apple developer account but have you checked if you can save data by Facebook or twitter , one of others ways you can log it to your data is by having jailbreak and log into jailbreakon verison
