I was wondering what is and how the jailbreak really works.. 

What the crackers need to do to achiev the fragilities of the OS? Is that something related to the device's kernels? 

And how companies may shield their products, preventing the jailbreak release at least for a long time?

From my knowledge, you need a total of 7-8 exploits(create them) from loop holes in the operating system. But if ur like Luca Tadesco, then you only need 3-4 cause he's a genius.

Hackers find exploits on the Operating System to gain root access to the device. Root access means you can access and modify each part of the device which Apple does not really like.
