Help/Support Preserve ios 6.1.3 firmware before updating to ios 8 to rollback

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone might know if It's possible or if there's even a way for me to somehow preserve my current ios firmware (6.1.3) on my iPhone 4S which has never been jail broken nor currently is before updating my device to the newest ios 8 firmware so I can go back to ios 6.1.3 later on if I choose so.

I've gotten mixed messages about this from Apple saying It's possible but would be difficult and they neglected to share the method as well as another saying It's not possible at all.

Any information about this would be helpful and much appreciated.

I believe you need to download something like SHSH to be able to go back. Not sure tho so don't quote me on that

Once Updated, an iPhone 4s cannot be downgraded.

Apple says you can downgrade? lol

I only know downgrading is possible on the iPhone 4...

Yes DiDA, I was surprised when I saw they were hinting that there's a way but only said It'd be difficult and after I asked how I'd go about this they never replied back. Sorry if I ended up replying wrong, I could've sworn I clicked on quote but that's not what it looks like.

Yes, that is surprising. Maybe they have tools which we don't..
