Help/Support Error installing app - please help!

Hey!

I really need help. I have installed a game from google play, used lucky patcher to create a new apk file so I can buy anything in the game. My device is not rooted. When I have used the lucky patcher generated app for a while, there will be an update avaliable on google play, but I cannot update it. I do not want to lose my app data, like the level etc, so I do not uninstall the app generated by lucky patcer, but I try to install the update on another device, and then move that apk file to my primary device. Then I try to install, but I get a message: "error installing app".

I have tried to backup the app data with Helium, and restored it. When I restore it to the lucky patcher generated apk, it works perfectly fine, but if I restore the app data to the original update from google play, it does not work. SOmething with different signatures?

I hope some of you can help!

I'd recommend just logging into Facebook if the game has a Facebook login... It's 10x easier tbh.

The game does not have any Facebook login, only G+, but I cannot save my data there...

It is Stickman Battlefields by the way

I've never played the game before. Is it offline? Only other method I can think of is to use Helium.

It is both offline and online. If you read my first post closely, you see that Helium did not workin this case. I backuped the app data from the lucky patcher generated application, but I could only restore it to the lucky patcher generated app, not when I installed the game from google play. My problem is that I cannot update the game without loosing the app data in the future.

Sounds like either the Developer or Google figured out a way to protect the data, why when you restore it on the updated version it doesn't work. The updated version must have security holes fixed

Nonono, I backup the app data from the lucky patcher generated app, and then I also backup some files about the apk file itself, so I think something is different from the original and the lp generated app.

For example: I have backupped the app data from the lp generated app. Then I clear the data from the game, start it and boom, nothing is saved anymore. Then I restore the data, start it, and there everyting is back.

If I uninstall the lp generated app, lp means lucky patcher, then install the original app from google play and start the game, nothing is saved, obviously enough. But then I try to restore the app data and start it again, but still nothing happens. I think it is because the original apk is different from the lp generated apk, that is why it does not work. My thoughts.

Do you understand better now?

I'm pretty sure you need root to backup and restore apk+data correctly. Did it some years ago and I could update a game of mine without losing any data (was offline/online). I think I downloaded the new version from GP, created a new modified apk, then restored; but i cant really remember. You could also use titanium backup.

Tried the same on a rooted android emulator, no difference..

Have not tried titanium there, but the whole point is to get it to work on my un-rooted device.

You have a modified apk (created by luck patcher) & a fresh un-modified apk update from Google store, do you think you can merge it as one on the same device? It won't work for sure.

Remove the modified apk. Install the latest update/version of the app then use lucky patcher again.
