Help/Support App Store Downloading App problem

Hi, This is my first topic
I have iPhone 4s running IOS 6.1.3 and when i try to download apps from appstore like facebook or youtube i get a message that i will install an older version and i hit download but it download for a min or 2 then i get another message to retry the download or done.
what should i do, please help me... i don't want to upgrade my ios version because it makes this device performance very bad

The message you are getting is normal since your device is on older version of iOS.

This is a new feature from Apple. Let's say for some apps you need to have iOS v9 for example, so on that case either you will not see the app at all on AppStore, or you will get a message says "You need iOS 9" so in that case that version of the app will not work at all unless you have the required iOS version. But let's say if the app developers made it in a way that can work on older iOS version with less features "since you need to update to the latest iOS to enjoy all the benefits" then in that case you will get the above message in your post. But in that case even if you get that message the app should be installed normally. As said by my colleague, check the date and time on your device and make it's at present and try again.
