Help/Support How To Jailbreak iPod Touch Touch 4th Generation (ios 6.1.6 )?

Hey guys

I've been trying to jailbreak my iPod 4th generation with Redsn0w's tool but when I try to select ipsw it says that's it's now supported with that redsn0w version. I also tried googling for a solution, people said that I should try installing Itunes 10.2.2 but after I install it says Application not installed correctly, so I tried reinstalling a couple of times but same error pops up. So Please If anyone got a solution or an alternative I would be very thankful.

 

Redsn0w versions used: -0.9.15beta3 

                                             -0.9.8beta1

iPod 4 ios 6 ipsw file is : iPod4,1_6.1.6_10B500_Restore.ipsw

you need to use ios 6.0 ipsw i belive but i would recheck if i was you but iam pretty sure this is it

Actually their was that blog that gave direct links to download and this file is supposed to be the file for iPod touch 4G ios 6.1.6

No you need the 6.0.0 IPSW of your iPod Touch 4th Gen. There is a tutorial on iOSGods for iOS 6.x jailbreak

i don't know if you're familiar of the ios 6 jailbreak era but the first jailbreak for ios 6 was released by Redsnow then came 6.1.6, p0sixspwn finally released a jailbreak for the os. etc.
