Troubleshooting "Non-Working" or Crashing Hacks & Cheats

In this topic, we're going to cover all the reasons why a hack might not be working and a way to fix it. We will start off from downloading the .deb and all the way to actually seeing the menu in action in-game. Let's get started.

 

How do I download a hack/cheat?

Hacks on iOSGods are posted in individual topics. Each topic either has a download link or a Do-It-Yourself tutorial for hacking a specific app. Most download links and tutorials are hidden in “Hidden Content.” To view this hidden content, you must like/react to or reply to the topic that has the hack. If you plan to reply, please follow our posting guidelines and read our tutorial on how to unlock the hidden content for more info.

Once you can see the hidden content, you should see a download link (usually .deb) for the hack (depending on the topic). Clicking the link typically leads to a file-hosting site; look for a "download now" or "free user download" button. You will need to install iGameGod or Filza to proceed.

How do I install the downloaded hack/cheat?

Each hack topic should include instructions and requirements. If not, you’ll typically need Filza, plus Cydia Substrate/Substitute/ElleKit (or equivalent, depending on your jailbreak), and PreferenceLoader from Sileo/Zebra/Cydia. After downloading the .deb via Safari/Chrome, look for the "Open in iGameGod" option. That will take you to iGameGod’s installation screen, where you can choose "Normal Install" or "Inject via iGameGod." A successful install screen will look like this.

Deb Installation was successful, now what?

After the .deb installs, you may need to enable the hack’s features in your device Settings (for patcher-type hacks) or simply open the app (for menu/tweak hacks). Nowadays, most hacks are in-game mod menus—so you should see the menu inside your app upon launch. Always read the hack’s topic for specific instructions.

NOTE Some apps require you to perform a certain in-game action for the hack to activate (e.g., buying or using currency). If the hack’s topic says you must do "X" in-game for it to work, follow those instructions carefully.

App crashes as soon as I try to open the app or when enabling features?

This can happen for several reasons:

1. The hack might be outdated and not compatible with the latest App Store version. Check the topic title/version. Also ensure you don’t have conflicting hacks installed.

2. Certain hack features might be unstable. Try disabling some of them & use Cr4shed/CrashReporter to troubleshoot. For iGMenu Safe Mode details, see the iGMenu & iGAuth FAQ .

3. The app itself could be corrupted. Re-download from the App Store.

4. The app may have anti-jailbreak mechanisms that detect your jailbreak and crash. Use a jailbreak bypass tweak to get around this.

5. Another tweak may conflict with the hack. Check your tweak list in Cydia/Sileo/Zebra.

Hack was successfully installed but has no effect on my app?

Possible causes:

1. The hack might be outdated and doesn’t support the latest app version. Check the hack’s version and make sure it matches the App Store app version.

2. The hack only supports x64 (ARM64/ARM64e) iDevices, and yours isn’t compatible. (See the device list below.)

3. Missing dependencies. Check the hack’s requirements and install them from Sileo/Zebra/Cydia. For Electra/Chimera jailbreak, see this topic. For Odyssey/Taurine jailbreak, see this topic.

4. Try installing and running iCleaner. Sometimes a crash can cause tweak injection to fail on subsequent launches.

5. Check your app's bundle ID and the hack's bundle ID and make sure they match. This usually means that the hack is for the American version of the app and you may have installed the Australian version of the app. This is rare but some companies like BANDAI NAMCO do this. Application Bundle ID is located inside the Info.plist file inside the app's folder. Hack's Bundle ID is usually written inside the topic, if not, after installing the hack, the bundle ID will be found in /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries/HACKNAME.plist. Verify the bundle ID inside the hack matches the one located in your app's Info.plist. If it doesn't, that means you may have to download the app from a different App Store region and reinstall the hack so it can apply properly. You can also check the Bundle ID differences using App Info which is easier.

6. There are numerous anti-jailbreak detection tweaks nowadays and some of them seem to also disable tweak injection. Which means they also disable the .deb you have installed. To fix this, whitelist the app from the anti-jailbreak detection tweak or remove it entirely.

How do I uninstall a hack I installed through iGameGod or Filza?

Uninstalling a .deb cheat is the same as uninstalling any tweak. Go to Cydia/Sileo (or equivalent) → Installed → Recent. Find the hack’s name, tap "Modify," then "Remove."

If you injected the .deb via iGameGod, open iGameGod’s "Installed Tweaks" page, swipe on the hack, and remove it there.

Which devices are x64 or ARM64/ARM64e?

The latest iOS hacks generally support x64/ARM64 & ARM64e devices, including: iPhone 5s, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, X, Xr, Xs, Xs Max, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, 12, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, 12 Mini, 13, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max, 13 Mini, 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, SE, iPod Touch 6G, 7G, iPad Air, Air 2, iPad Pro, iPad Mini 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and later.
