[Tutorial] How to install Cydia on iOS 8.x.x using the Pangu8 Jailbreak!

    Just look on iphonehacks the amount of people having problems, various from the start all the way through, dare say saurik will update cydia quickly as most wont try commands etc.. lol

    Yeah, people are lazy. They shouldn't even be Jailbreaking though. This Jailbreak release was meant only for Developers to update their tweaks for iOS 8... :MeGusta:

    HEY I GOT A FIX HERE also added to the post but posting so you people can see ^^   So cydia didn't show up for me or crashed or just wasn't installed.   Well what u have to do is:   1. if cydia

    I tried a few ways to do this like the FuroowHD version with auto install and it didnt work (both cydia installer and cydia translations were in the pangu app) so i assume it installed ok but no cydia

    Can you open the Pangu app -> Manager -> Remove and see if Cydia Installer Package is there?

    Yep they were both there from the start, tried uninstalling them and trying to right click on properties (in my iphone with winscp ) and manually changing the octal from 0644 to 0777 but none of that was needed when i decided to type in the command word "reboot" when i started from scratch!

     

     

    I wanted to strip the apps from cydia as most i didnt even use and wanted to start a fresh and add as and when!

    i just got the cydia app on my ipad 4, but this time it was a bit different

    I installed the Pangu app then checked the Pangu manager file and this time there wasn't a cydia installer and cydia translations files there which was strange as the iphone 4s there was from the get go, so i got the winSCP up and running and i got the 2 deb files (and i forgot to mention this last time) i clicked on the properties of each on my laptop (windows 7) and both files were blocked as they came from another computer, i unlocked these and then transfered both files over to the /var/root folder, i then checked and found that this time in the media folder on the ipad i had the /var/root/Media/AutoInstall/ so i put these in the folder and got the winSCP Terminal/Console up and typed "reboot" and cydia didn't show up.

    So then i decided to put them back in var/root and typed in: dpkg -i *.deb and hit the Execute button, waited 30 seconds then typed reboot and it worked cydia folder showed up 

     

    All i can think of is as apple software grows and things change this is the reason the  /var/root/Media/AutoInstall/ folders were on the ipad but not the iphone 4s

     

     

    Iphone 4s is version 8.1 (12B411)

    Ipad 4 is version 8.1 (12B410) 

     

    Now i am going to fiddle and see what apps work with ios 8 :)

    That's strange. :huh:

     

    No tweaks work in iOS 8 at the moment due to Cydia Substrate not being updated. Apps do work. Apps like MovieBox and other that do not require CS work. :)

    hello DiDa...!!

     

    need your help , cydia is not being installed... when i tried through WinSCP, after typing command in console and pressing "Execute" then it stuck on "Setting up cydia (1.1.13) ..." 
    what should i do now...???

    Reboot your iDevice, and if it's not installed, try running the command on PuTTy Terminal. :)

     

    Also check the above replies for fixes. :)

    Okay, do this.

     

    Open the Pangu app on your Home Screen, go to Manager -> Remove and uninstall "Cydia Installer" package then power down your device.

     

    Next, power up your iDevice and using WinSCP, copy the Cydia.deb and the lproj.deb to /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall/ (If the folders do not exist, just create them). Set permissions to 777 to the Cydia Folder and the 2 .deb files using WinSCP.

     

    Now open up WinSCP console by pressing CTRL+T and type in there "reboot" (without quotations). You phone will now reboot and you should have Cydia on your HomeScreen if you did everything right.

    [info] Don't install jailbreak yet

     

    The apps/tweaks arent compatible for ios 8 yet

     

    You can update to ios 8 but dont jailbreak if u dont want to break your phone xD [/info]

        STEP 2: Download the pre-hacked .IPA file from the link above to your computer. To download from the iOSGods App, see this tutorial topic.
        STEP 3: Download Sideloadly and install it on your PC.
        STEP 4: Open/Run Sideloadly on your computer, connect your iOS Device, and wait until your device name shows up.
        STEP 5: Once your iDevice appears, drag the modded .IPA file you downloaded and drop it inside the Sideloadly application.
        STEP 6: You will now have to enter your iTunes/Apple ID email login, press "Start" & then you will be asked to enter your password. Go ahead and enter the required information.
        STEP 7: Wait for Sideloadly to finish sideloading/installing the hacked IPA. If there are issues during installation, please read the note below.
        STEP 8: Once the installation is complete and you see the app on your Home Screen, you will need to go to Settings -> General -> Profiles/VPN & Device Management. Once there, tap on the email you entered from step 6, and then tap on 'Trust [email protected]'.
        STEP 9: Now go to your Home Screen and open the newly installed app and everything should work fine. You may need to follow further per app instructions inside the hack's popup in-game.

        NOTE: iOS/iPadOS 16 and later, you must enable Developer Mode. For free Apple Developer accounts, you will need to repeat this process every 7 days.         Installation Instructions:

        PC Installation Instructions:
        STEP 1: If necessary, uninstall the app if you have it installed on your iDevice. Some hacked IPAs will install as a duplicate app. Make sure to back it up so you don't lose your progress.
        STEP 2: Download the pre-hacked .IPA file from the link above to your computer. To download from the iOSGods App, see this tutorial topic.
        STEP 3: Download Sideloadly and install it on your PC.
        STEP 4: Open/Run Sideloadly on your computer, connect your iOS Device, and wait until your device name shows up.
        STEP 5: Once your iDevice appears, drag the modded .IPA file you downloaded and drop it inside the Sideloadly application.
        STEP 6: You will now have to enter your iTunes/Apple ID email login & then your password. Go ahead and enter the required information.
        STEP 7: Wait for Sideloadly to finish sideloading/installing the hacked IPA.
        STEP 8: Once the installation is complete and you see the app on your Home Screen, you will need to go to Settings -> General -> Profiles & Device Management. Once there, tap on the email you entered from step 6, and then tap on 'Trust [email protected]'.
        STEP 9: Now go to your Home Screen and open the newly installed app and everything should work fine. You may need to follow further per app instructions inside the hack's popup in-game.
        NOTE: For free Apple Developer accounts, you will need to repeat this process every 7 days. Using a disposable Apple ID for this process is suggested but not required. Jailbroken iDevices can also use Sideloadly to install the IPA with AppSync. Filza & IPA Installer (or alternatives) from Cydia also work.         PC Installation Instructions

        STEP 3: Download Sideloadly and install it on your PC.
        STEP 4: Open Sideloadly on your computer, connect your iOS device, and wait until your device name appears in Sideloadly.
        STEP 5: Once your iDevice is recognized, drag the modded .IPA file you downloaded and drop it into the Sideloadly application.
        STEP 6: Enter your Apple Account email when prompted, then press “Start.” You’ll then be asked to enter your password. Go ahead and provide the required information.
        STEP 7: Wait for Sideloadly to finish sideloading/installing the hacked IPA. If there are issues during installation, please read the note below.
        STEP 8: Once the installation is complete and you see the app on your Home Screen, you will need to go to Settings -> General -> Profiles / VPN & Device Management. Once there, tap on the email you entered from step 6, and then tap on 'Trust [email protected]'.
        STEP 9: Now go to your Home Screen and open the newly installed app and everything should work fine. You may need to follow further per app instructions inside the hack's popup in-game.
