I've followed step by step your tuto, but still don't have cydia icon after reboot.

Any idea ?

Try settings Permissions to 0775 using WinSCP to the Cydia.app located in /var/stash/xxxx/Applications or /Applications/Cydia.app

I've changed changed permissions of 2 deb files in the root folder and after several reboots I have now the cydia icon !!!

I fixed it for my friend also after some installs.

HEY I GOT A FIX HERE also added to the post but posting so you people can see ^^

 

So cydia didn't show up for me or crashed or just wasn't installed.

 

Well what u have to do is:

 

1. if cydia is installed but crashing or not showing up:

- go to pangu app and delete cydia installer and translations

- now reboot ur device from 25pp (go to the "..." place and press the reboot/respring sign, it's a green button.)

- now after your phone is on move the 2 cydia files to /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstaller. (if u dont have some folders you have to make them!)

- now open putty or kitty or whatever... and connect and install using this command: dpkg --install --force-depends *.deb

- now reboot using 25pp again same green button.

This will work   enjoy.

 

 

2. if cydia doesn't install

 

- move the 2 cydia files to /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstaller. (if u dont have some folders you have to make them!)

- now open putty or kitty or whatever... and connect and install using this command: dpkg --install --force-depends *.deb

- now reboot using 25pp again same green button.

This will work   enjoy.

I tried a few ways to do this like the FuroowHD version with auto install and it didnt work (both cydia installer and cydia translations were in the pangu app) so i assume it installed ok but no cydia icon, finally it worked with putting both deb's in in private/var/root and then went Inside the winSCP Terminal/Console, typed in: dpkg -i *.deb and hit the Execute button, waited 30 seconds then typed reboot and it worked, i tried with manually rebooting the phone previously about 5 times and no cydia icon but it seems typing the command "reboot"  on the winSCP Terminal/Console worked

Well i have linked this site to iphonehacks and a couple of other places i dwell, as it isd better laid out on here, i think the command reboot must be needed like the equivilant of saving and rebooting

 

Got an ipad 4 i am about to do now and will let you know if this works the same

Just look on iphonehacks the amount of people having problems, various from the start all the way through, dare say saurik will update cydia quickly as most wont try commands etc.. lol
