I am going to have to warn you, I don't know too much about hacking and computers overall. When I download some hacks within the appcake app, sometimes I get an error message. It was explained to me that I need to open up the file with ifile. I downloaded ifile with the biteyourapple repo using cydia and don't know what to do now. If someone could point me to a tutorial or show me themselves, that would be great.

When I tap on the installed file there are only the options of delete, share, or install.

Hmm, I don't know this because Im not using AppCake

Download the deb

Open iFile and tap the downloaded deb

Then press installer

If u install 2 hacks on one game uninstall one

And u need cydia substrate and preferences loader

I think you get that error when the file you are installing is not a .deb or .ipa. AppCake doesn't install zips & rars so make sure you have the correct extension.

What ios version you using?

if you are using ios 7, install Appsync 7.0+.

if you already have it installed, try reinstalling it.
