the only "Game Player" versions I can find at the iOSgods repo are 1.5.3 and 1.5.2. Both send me into safe mode. Where am I going wrong?

Same thing happened to me, it used to reboot my device randomly when searching for value. Use 1.4.0 or older vesrions. Add this repo for version 1.4.0:
