i've found tutorials explaining the process of reverse engineering , and they all use theos , i get that it is helpful to use it , but i wonder what problems the programmer had , so i can understand why theos, and what does it do.

When you wanna to make a file.deb ( Mod game ) 

you need a program ( $THEOS) to make your packet , you can write code in file Tweak.xm in folder Theos and use command line to make all code  in file.deb

so it's basically a compiler ?
